On May 6 last year, Roseanne Cassano, of Yonkers, backed her car into the storefront of Enzo’s Ristorante in Mamaroneck. At the time of the crash, it was determined that her blood alcohol content was .09 percent, just above the legal driving limit of .08 percent, police said.

This week, Cassano was back in Westchester County Court, where she was sentenced to five years probation and her driver’s license was revoked. She pleaded guilty earlier this year to first-degree vehicular assault.

On the evening of the crash, responding officers arrived on scene and found a vehicle inside of the building/Enzo’s Restaurant. Officers immediately began rendering aid to multiple people on the scene, police said.

Police said that Cassano had dinner at Enzo’s before getting into her car, reversing out of a parking space, striking a pair of parked cars and smashing through the storefront. She reportedly had two drinks, including a whiskey sour, during dinner.

In total, nine people were injured, including four critically. Each of them survived their injuries after being treated at various hospitals.
